How to pick the photo

A sharp, front-on photo where the pet fills the frame. Daylight, one pet.

All the tips
  • Do: Nose and eyes sharp, front-on or three-quarter. Avoid: A blurry photo, or one taken from far away.
  • Do: Your pet fills the photo: get closer or crop before sending. Avoid: A small pet in the middle of a big room.
  • Do: Daylight, no flash, no filter. Avoid: Backlight, flash, filters.
  • Do: One pet per photo. Avoid: Two animals, or a person in the photo.

Which photo works best?

One where the face is clearly visible, front-on or close to it, in natural light and not backlit. One pet per photo. If the photo will not work we tell you before generating anything, and we say why.

How long does it take to arrive?

Usually 2 to 8 days, 14 calendar days at most from payment, production included. Free shipping.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes. Give the recipient’s address at checkout and the portrait is delivered there; tick “This is a gift” to add a message. The estimated delivery date is shown on the page before you order. No photo to hand? Give a Fur & Ink gift card: the recipient chooses the photo and the style.

Which size should I pick?

The 12x16 in works on almost any wall and is the one most people pick. The 8x10 in suits a shelf or a desk. The 18x24 in wants an empty wall and reads from across the room.

What if I do not like it?

The preview is free, so you order nothing until you have seen it. If the printed portrait does not match the preview you saw, we reprint it or refund you.

Where is it printed?

In the EU, by Gelato, the same printers behind thousands of European stores. No customs.
